A whole-home remodel is a different animal than a single project. Walls move, systems get touched, and the house has to keep working as a home the whole way through. That takes a plan — and a builder who can hold one.
What a whole-home remodel includes
Every house is different, but a Trueline whole-home project usually touches most of these:
- Layout. Removing or moving walls to open up how the main floor lives — kitchen, dining, and living working as one.
- Kitchens and baths. The rooms that carry the most weight, rebuilt from the studs with new plumbing and proper waterproofing.
- Systems. Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC brought up to code where we open walls — the right time to fix the bones.
- Finishes. Floors, trim, tile, paint, and lighting, chosen and priced before we start so nothing stalls mid-build.
- Windows and envelope. Replacing tired windows, adding insulation, and tightening up a drafty older home while it's open.
Living in it, or moving out
Most families ask this first. If we can phase the work and keep a kitchen or bathroom usable, you can often stay put — we'll seal off the work zone and clean up every day. For gut remodels or when we open structure, it's usually easier (and faster) to move out for part of the project. We plan that with you honestly during estimating, not once you're already committed.

How long does a whole-home remodel take?
Most run 12 to 24 weeks on site, depending on scope, structural work, and how much of the mechanicals we touch. You get a start date and a finish date in the contract before demo begins.
Can we live in the house during the remodel?
Often yes, if we can phase the work and keep a kitchen or bath usable. For gut remodels or when we open structure, most families move out for part of the project. We map that out with you during estimating.
Is the price fixed or an estimate?
Fixed. You approve an itemized, written bid before we start. The only way it changes is a signed change order for something you add, or a genuine hidden condition we uncover and price with you on the spot.
Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?
Our carpenters are Trueline employees, and one superintendent runs your job start to finish. We use the same trusted licensed trade partners for electrical, plumbing, and HVAC on every project.
